Muscle -Relaxing Treatments

Botulinum Toxin Type A (BTx-A), such as Botox & Dysport, is a purified natural protein that is administered through the skin and works on the underlying muscles of the face. Over years of repeated muscle contractions, the facial muscles cause wrinkles in the overlying skin. BTx-A relaxes these muscle contractions and allows the skin to become smooth again, giving a more youthful and fresher appearance. These treatments are beneficial for “crow’s feet” around the eyes, horizontal forehead lines, and frown lines between the eyes. Results are temporary, lasting for 3 – 6 months. Hyperactive lip muscles can be relaxed, reducing excessive lip elevation during smiling and eliminating a gummy smile. Dermal Fillers

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance found in the body which helps to hydrate and provide volume to our skin, keeping it looking young. With age, our bodies produce less collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid and so the skin begins to sag creating unsightly facial lines and grooves, resulting in an overall dull and sunken appearance. Using an HA-based gel, which is administered into the dermis of the skin, we can “fill” these lines, grooves and sunken areas, restoring youthful volume to the face and brightening your overall appearance. HA Dermal Fillers are temporary by nature, lasting anywhere from 6 – 12 months before being completely absorbed by the body.
