Let’s look at why routine dental check-ups and cleans are crucial for maintaining your oral health.
Prevention is always better than cure, and this couldn’t be truer when it comes to your dental health. Regular dental check-ups allow us to catch any potential issues early on, preventing them from becoming more serious problems down the road.
During your routine check-up, we thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for any signs of decay, gum disease, or other oral health issues. Catching these problems early means they can be treated more effectively, often with simpler and less invasive procedures.
Even if you maintain good oral hygiene habits at home, there are areas in your mouth that are difficult to reach with a toothbrush and floss. Professional dental cleaning removes plaque and tartar build-up, which can lead to cavities and gum disease if left untreated. Plus, it leaves your teeth feeling fresh and looking brighter!
Many people aren’t aware that dentists play a crucial role in screening for oral cancer. During your routine check-up we will examine your mouth for any signs of abnormalities or early-stage oral cancer, allowing for early detection and treatment.
Your dentist is your partner in maintaining good oral health. During your check-up, we provide personalised advice tailored to your specific needs and concerns. Whether it’s improving your brushing technique, addressing tooth sensitivity, or discussing options for teeth whitening, the team at Renew Dental Lounge are here to help you achieve your oral health goals.
It’s generally recommended to visit your dentist for a check-up and clean every six months. However, we may recommend more frequent visits depending on your oral health needs.
During a check-up, we will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for any signs of decay, gum disease, or other oral health issues. We may also take X-rays and photos to check for hidden problems.
A dental clean involves removing plaque and tartar build-up from your teeth, which can’t be effectively removed with regular brushing and flossing. We will also polish your teeth to remove surface stains and make them feel smooth and clean.
A dental clean is typically painless. However, if you have sensitive teeth or gums, you may experience a little discomfort during the process. We always make sure you are as comfortable as possible.
Let us know how you are feeling, we will always look after you and work at your pace. We want to make your visit as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
Yes! Routine dental check-ups are essential for preventing cavities and gum disease. We can catch any early signs of these issues and recommend appropriate treatment to prevent them from progressing
Brush your teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste and floss daily. Your diet has a big impact on teeth as well, so avoid sugary foods and drinks, minimise soft, sports and energy drinks as there are really acidic and maintain a balanced diet for optimal oral health.
For new patients we offer a gap free check up and clean if you have private health insurance, with most covering you for two check up and cleans each year. Routine recall check-up & cleans are charged at a lower rate than the first visit; there may be a gap fee, depending on your particular health fund & level of cover.
We also provide discounted check-up & cleans for children.
